Exploring a $3,000,000 Tudor Heritage Home

ABOUT THIS ABANDONED TUDOR HOME

Exploring a $3,000,000 Forgotten and Abandoned Tudor Mansion and Heritage Home

Built in the early 1900's for a prominent immigrant family, this large abandoned Tudor style home has recently been sold to a developer for $3,000,000.  I originally thought I heard that the home will be demolished and removed from the historic registry but I was wrong.  The home will stay and be incorporated into the plans for the property, which will likely include new development on either side of the home.

First discovered by
Carlo Paolozza  and Terry Wilson  , this location was sent to me by a local follower having recognized it from a video.

The family who owned the home originally had 13 acres of land on which they used it for agriculture, now in 2021 all that remains are two homes and an old greenhouse.

The property that this home sits on actually dates as far back as 1882 when the land was purchased and used for farming, mainly produce and vegetables.  This land continued to serve its purpose in food production into the 20th century.  In fact, the buildings and 3 acres of greenhouses remained until the early 2000s when they were all demolished, except for one lone greenhouse and two homes.

In 2014, the property owners who are living descendants of the original owners of the property put forth a motion to have the property removed from the heritage registry.  They stated that the value of the land far exceeds the value of the house and they feared that a historic designation can significantly lower property values and the ability to sell.  That motion was denied by the City Council.
