Abandoned Quebec Catholic Church

ABOUT THIS ABANDONED CHURCH

Today we're exploring a beautiful and simple abandoned Catholic church that I visited on a road trip to the province of Quebec.

It was empty, and seemed to be in the middle of either demolition or adaptive reuse.  I was able to find that it was only opened in 1932 but I couldn't find when it closed.

While it was pretty much just a large empty sanctuary, I really liked the light and the way it illuminated the room.

Thanks to UrbanDownfall for sending me this location when another place I tried to visit didn't work out.

Funny story, when I was here there was a man in a truck parked in the parking lot, I got tired of waiting for him to leave so I figured I'll just head onto the property and if he was in any way associated as security, or the construction company that he would see me and say something.  Well, he didn't

But then after about 10 minutes inside a couple of cars pulled into the parking lot, then all of a sudden about 5-7 more cars pulled in and parked in the parking lot but no one was getting out of their cars.  I'm starting to wonder what the heck I have gotten myself into here.

I decided that I'll just stay and deal with whatever is happening.

Well, by around 3pm I started hearing the sounds of children outside, I took a look outside and there were now about 30 cars in the parking lot, they were all parents picking up their kids and within minutes the parking lot was empty again!
